I joined the Strategic team, Media and Communications as a Senior Advisor in October 2020 and so far I¡¯m having a great time.
Police is a unique place so working here is more than just doing your job. I feel like my time and effort here really makes a difference. I¡¯m a part of something that¡¯s big and important.
I provide strategic comms support to the National Road Policing Centre, Assurance Team, Service Group, and the Reframe Strategy, and I am one of the communication representatives on the Joint Venture Business Unit that is delivering the government¡¯s vision to eliminate family and sexual violence in NZ.
There is a lot to do and so much more still to learn but I¡¯m enjoying spending time with experienced, skilled and passionate people.
Before Police I was at Waka Kotahi (NZ Transport Agency) where I helped deliver the mandatory ABS on motorcycles rule change and the asset management data standard. Before that I was at Te Puni K¨kiri supporting Maori Wardens, and suicide prevention initiatives, cadetships, and rangatahi development programmes. I¡¯ve also worked at KiwiRail, Local Government NZ, and Creative NZ.
I have three grown sons who make me laugh and remind me what¡¯s most important, and in the summer I coach and play softball.
