Victim of fatal crash near Greta Valley named

Canterbury Police are now able to name the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash near the Omihi railway crossing south of Greta Valley on 18 February 2015 as 29 year old Ying-Hua Zhou from China.?

Mr Zhou was the driver and sole occupant of the white car which was reported to have crossed the centre line and collided with a stock truck heading in the opposite direction.? He was on holiday in New Zealand.

The death has been referred to the Coroner.?

A spokesperson for Mr Zhou¡¯s family said? ¡°We are extremely upset and appreciate the huge support from the local Chinese community, the Chinese Consulate and Canterbury Police during this extremely difficult time.¡±

Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
