1 min read

Nelson Police have arrested two people following the execution of a search warrant at an address in Victory Square this morning.

A 47 year old male has been charged with possession of utensils and a 31 year old female has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and prescription medicine.

During the search warrant a small amount of methamphetamine and four pounds of high quality cannabis head with a street value of between $12,000 and $15,000 dollars was recovered.

¡°Police is determined to shut down drug dealing operations to prevent the significant social harm they cause the community, the users and their families,¡± said Detective Sergeant Lex Bruning.

¡°Our belief is that drugs are one of the main drivers of other criminal offending so we¡¯re pleased we¡¯ve been able to identify and disrupt this activity.¡±

Enquires are on-going in relation to the seized cannabis.
