1 min read

Police are generally pleased with the behaviour of the majority of fans who attended last night¡¯s All Blacks v Wallabies game in Wellington.

The Bledisloe Cup match was a sell-out, which attracted many people into the city.

One arrest was made for disorder, 19 people were evicted from the grounds for intoxication and 4 people were refused entry to the match due to intoxication.

¡°It was a busy night in Wellington, not just at the Westpac Stadium but also at bars showing the game, and following the match and into the early hours of the morning,¡± says Operation Commander, Inspector Neil Banks.

A further 14 arrests were made for alcohol related offending including disorderly behaviour & fighting offences in and around the Courtenay Place area and CBD.

¡°Police were prepared with additional staff who were highly visible in the entertainment areas of the capital.

¡°We appreciate those who were considerate and responsible and contributed to what was a fun and enjoyable night for many,¡± says Mr Banks.
