Hastings Police seek information after home invasion incident

Hastings Police are asking for help identifying a man who broke into a home and assaulted a man in Longlands Road, Hastings this morning.

A couple aged in their seventies were woken at around 8.15am and confronted by the intruder inside their home.

The offender, described as in his late teens, broke a window to gain entry. He assaulted the male occupant before leaving in a dark coloured sedan.

Detective John Brans of the Hawkes Bay CIB said the male occupant received minor injuries for which he received medical attention. ?His wife was not injured.

¡°The couple are understandably shaken. They have been supported by family and victim support today after what was a traumatic incident.¡±

¡°We would like to hear from anyone who saw a man in his late teens acting suspiciously in or around the Longlands Road area this morning between 7am and 8.30am. ?
