At about 5.28pm today, a 30 year old female was involved in a motor vehicle accident near the sky field car park on Mt Taranaki.
She was flown to Taranaki base hospital by the rescue helicopter but died as a result of her injuries on route.
The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating the cause of the accident.
The woman¡¯s name will not be released until family members have been notified.
