Police can now release the name of the diver who died at Flat Point, Masterton on 17 December.
He was 31-year-old Leroy Smith of Manawatu.
Leroy's body was recovered by members of his family on 18 December. At the time Police incorrectly reported he was found by a member of the public, this error is regretted.
Police extends our sympathies to Mr Smith¡¯s whanau and friends.
Leroy's death has been referred to the Coroner.?
