Two arrests have been made as part of an ongoing investigation into a firearms incident in Clover Park last month.
The incident occurred on the evening of 2 May, where a man suffered an injury when a firearm was discharged outside a property on Clutha Crescent.
Acting Detective Inspector Mike Hayward, of Counties Manukau CIB, says Police executed search warrants today as part of the investigation.
¡°We have arrested two people as a result of today¡¯s action and they will face serious charges in court.
¡°The man and woman, aged 18 and 60, are expected in the Manukau District Court this afternoon.¡±
Both have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, acting Detective Inspector Hayward says.
¡°We hope today¡¯s arrests bring some reassurance to the community as a result.
¡°Police do not tolerate these sorts of incidents where firearms are used in our communities, and we will investigate any offending to hold offenders accountable.¡±
Police enquiries are continuing, and further charges cannot be ruled out at this point.
ENDS.
