A young person has been arrested in relation to extensive damage at Te Anau Domain Grounds over the weekend.
Police were notified of the damage, which had been caused by a vehicle doing skids, on Sunday 25 August.
Enquiries led Police to the vehicle and a 17-year-old male, who will now go through a youth justice process.
Constable Derek Dudley of Te Anau Police says it¡¯s extremely disappointing seeing this kind of senseless damage caused in our community.
¡°A lot of money, time and effort go into the upkeep of these grounds, and they should be for everyone to enjoy.
¡°We won¡¯t tolerate this kind of reckless behaviour and we are glad to have arrested someone so they can be held account.¡±
Police are keen to hear from anyone who observes damage or theft going on in the community.
Call 111 if it is happening now, or make a report after the fact through our 105 service.
