Help sought to stop attacks on Mangawhai property

1 min read

Rodney Police are seeking help from the public to find out who is responsible for repeated graffiti attacks and an arson at a Mangawhai property.

Within the last two weeks vandals have scrawled anti gay and lesbian messages on the fence of a Mangawhai property owned by two local women.

Detective Sergeant Roger Small, head of Rodney CIB, said the messages and writing left on 21 and 24 July were very similar to a previous incident on 8 January. A packing shed on the property had also been destroyed by a suspicious fire in January.

¡°The ongoing personal nature of these attacks is a concern,¡± Detective Sergeant Small said. ¡°Our inquiries are continuing, but we¡¯re sure someone, possibly living in the local community, has information that will help us find who is responsible for the wilful damage and arson.

¡°If anyone can help with information, or who has seen people acting suspiciously in the area, please contact Rodney CIB on telephone 09 4279804.¡±
