Two arrested following aggravated robbery

Police have made two arrests following an aggravated robbery in New Lynn this morning.

At around 8.30am, Police attended a Parker Avenue convenience store.

Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie, Waitematā CIB, says two offenders have entered the store, one armed with a knife.

“The offenders have jumped over the counter and stolen the till before leaving the store and fleeing in a stolen car.

“Fortunately, the shop keeper was uninjured.”

Unattended tin dinghy located, Kawau Bay, Auckland

Police are appealing for information after an unattended tin dinghy was found drifting off Kawau Bay this morning.

At this stage, we have no reports of any missing people that would appear to relate, however, we are wanting to confirm the dinghy’s owner is safe.

Police urge anyone who recognises the dinghy or who know someone who has failed to return home from fishing on Kawau Bay today to contact Police using the 105 reporting line, quote event number P062933786.

The 17-year-old girl, reported missing from Takapuna, is safe.

Two arrested after Birkenhead aggravated robbery

Police pulled out all the stops after a man was allegedly carjacked on the North Shore early this morning.

Two offenders face serious charges after being arrested in Manukau.

At around 1.22am, Police were called to Waratah Street in Birkenhead.

“A man was parked outside an address, when a stolen vehicle carrying a group of offenders arrived,” Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie, of Waitematā Crime Squad, says.

“The victim was assaulted and pulled from his vehicle, before it was stolen by these offenders.”

Man in court after Hauraki aggravated robbery

A man is appearing in court today after an aggravated robbery at a Hauraki bar on Saturday night.

Police were called to the North Shore bar on Lake Road after 7.30pm on 14 June.

Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie, from Waitematā Crime Squad, says a sole offender entered the bar.

“He was allegedly carrying a weapon, and threatened a staff member working at the time,” she says.

“The offender quickly made off with an amount of cash and took off in a stolen vehicle.”

Sometime later, a stolen vehicle was detected travelling into central Auckland.

Fatal crash: Seaview Avenue, Northcote

Police are attending a fatal single vehicle crash in Northcote this evening.

The crash occurred just after 4.30pm, where a vehicle left Onewa Road and collided with a power pole on Seaview Avenue.

Despite medical assistance being provided at the scene, sadly we can confirm the sole occupant has died.

The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene and carried out an examination.

Enquiries will be carried out on behalf of the Coroner.

Man charged following alleged Paremoremo hit-and-run

A man has been charged following an alleged hit-and-run in Paremoremo yesterday morning, which left two people injured.

Emergency services were called to Attwood Road about 7.10am yesterday following a report of a white ute striking two pedestrians.

The vehicle then allegedly left the scene without stopping.

One woman sustained serious injuries and another moderate injuries and both were transported to hospital for treatment.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams, Waitematā CIB, says earlier today a person presented to North Shore Police Station.

Police are asking for the public’s help after a hit-and-run incident this morning that left two women and their dogs injured.

Emergency services were called to Attwood Road, Paremoremo, about 7.10am after a report of a white ute striking two pedestrians.

The vehicle then left the scene without stopping.

One woman sustained serious injuries and another moderate.

Both were transported to hospital for treatment.

Police are now working to identify the driver of the vehicle which struck the women.

Alleged scammer arrested following $150k in thefts

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly used Facebook Marketplace to fleece people of more than $150,000 worth of goods.

This morning officers from Waitematā West Tactical Crime Unit assisted by the Armed Offenders Squad, conducted a search warrant at a Massey address.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting says Police had been looking for the male who was wanted in relation to 17 dodgy deals between November 2024 and April this year.
